MAHABHARATA is an ancient epic that holds great significance in our indian culture there were also some curses that are still active in todays time from the time of mahabharata
1. The curse given by yudhisthir to entire women society
when Angraaj karna was killled by Arjuna in the battlefield of kurukshetra
then kunti the mother of all the pandavas went to the dead body of karna and was weeping seeing this, the pandavas were surprised that why kunti the mother of pandavas was weeping over the dead body of their greatest enemy.yudhisthir went to the dead body of karna and asked his mother why she was crying over karna body
on hearing this kunti replied to yudhisthir that karna was their eldest brother.
upon hearing this words from kunti yudhisthir along with the other pandavas were shocked and yudhistir told in anger that o mother your silence has made us the murderer of our eldest brother you might have known this from only right then why didint you tell us before
that is why today i yudhistir keeping the sky and earth as witness curse the entire woman society that that they will never be able to hade any secrets from thereon.
and we can see that today women cant keep any secrets hidden.

THE CURSE OF SHRINGI RISHI TO KING PARIKSHIT
Once after the battle of kurukshetra king parikshit the grandson of the pandavas
was hunting in the forest there he saw a rishi named shameek who was meditating in the forest.he had taken the oath of silence,so when king parikshit called him he did not reply in anger king pariskshit had place a deda snake around the rishi’s neck
when rishi shringi the son of shameek rishi came and he saw this then in anger he gave a curse that 7days later he will die on the biting of takshak
naag takshak snake.and king parikshit died in the biting of takshak naag as destined
3.The curse given by shree krishna to Ashwatthama
Ashwatthama had called brahmastra and was going to use it on the pandavas
on seeing this lord krishna said to Ashwatthama to use brahmastra
both had released thr brahmastra then ved vyas rishi stopped it in the air and told them to recall the brahmastra as this astra had the power to destroy the entire creation
so arjun called the brahmastra back but Ashwatthama didnt have the knowledge
recall the brahmastra so he released the brahmastra towards the womb of uttara the wife of abhimanyu where parikshit was there
lord shree krishna protected the baby but he (krishna) was furious and gave Ashwatthama a curse that the pearl on his forehead will come out and there will be a wound that shall never heal Ashwatthama will always wander around till the end of kaliyuga and he will not be able to live with humans of this age as he will stink beacuse of the wounds,

the curse by rishi maandavya to yamraaj
Once a king had punished rishi maandavya for a crime that he didnt commit
he was hung by the neck but after many days also when rishi maandavya did not die then the king realised his mistake and he took rishi maandavya out of the hanging
and asked forgiveness for his mistake and afterwards when rishi maandavya
went to yamraaj to ask him that why he got punished without any crime
then yamraaj said that when rishi manaadvya was 12 years old he pierced a needle in the back of an insect on hearing this mandaaya got furious and said that in such a small age nobody knows anything about dharma and adharma what is right and what is wrong .you have punished me for a very small reason that is why i curse you that you will have to take birth as the son of a maidservant on earth.
for this curse yamraaj had to take birth in the form of vidur
5.The curse to Arjun from urvashi
once during the exile of pandavas to forest Arjun went for the search od divyaastra divine weapons ,arjun went to the swarga lok(heaven) to meet his father lord indra
he went there and lord indra gave him advice to learn from chitrasen the art of dancing ,singing, music
Arjun started to learn from chitrasen and in there upons seeing well build arjun urvashi wanted arjun to make ties with him but arjun upon hearing this rejected urvashis proposal and this made urvashi furious.
and urvashi gave a curse to arjun that he shall remain impotent forever.later arjun went to lord indra and upon realising her mistake urvashi reduced thr time period of the curse upto one year
for this curse arjun had to live one year as an impotent named brihanalla during his year of exile on anonymity.
